WELCOME TO ANAM CARA -DALLAS
The Celtic term, Anam Cara, means "soul friend" or "spirit friend." Anam Cara-Dallas began as a community of lay people who endeavor to open widely and deeply to the Spirit of Christ and in friendship and hospitality to all. We endeavor to follow the Way of the Heart in the Christian Contemplative Tradition. This web site is an outflow of that community and its mission is to offer support and encouragement to interested pilgrims on the spiritual journey. This online offering is here as a "touch point" for journeyers in this locale as well as encouragement to those far and wide on this planet. All are welcome! We hope you will enjoy exploring this site and we look forward to your questions, inquiries or comments. Our Anglican, Pocket and Celtic Prayer beads have been designed with care for contemplative and intercessory prayer. Anglican beads are not just for Anglicans or Episcopalians! Many people of varying faith roots have found them to be a very life-giving and peaceful addition to a life of prayer in a busy world. Peace to all who come this way....

The beads can be used in many ways but here is one way. The first set of 50 is used to pray discursively to God. The second is used to pray for people or situation, and the third is for silent prayer or contemplation. Click here to view more Celtic Prayer Bead styles. POCKET PRAYER BEADS are generally much lighter weight and definitely smaller than Anglican or Celtic prayer beads. They are perfect for pocket or purse, taking on a trip or on a prayerful walk. They are made with 9 larger beads, a cross or other symbol, and separator beads for pausing. The first bead, as with the Anglican beads, is an invitatory bead. it invites you to enter the presence of God. From there you begin interceding for others or situations, or, you may use a mantra or some other meaningful phrase or word. Click here to see more pocket prayer beads. Prayer beads are inteneded to assist the prayer into the presence of the Spirit and contemplation.
